About Book of My Life

Alison Vina, founder of Book of My Life

Alison Vina established Book of My Life in 2007. Over almost 20 years, Alison has helped hundreds of people from all walks of life with their memoirs. She has overseen the writing, editing and production of biographies for a diverse clientele — from senior figures from the worlds of business, science, engineering, medicine and the City to speech therapists, stay-at-home mums, nurses, singers, adventurers and more. Before specialising in private memoirs, Alison worked as a writer and editor for over ten years for publishers including Egmont and the BBC. Alison also works with businesses on their corporate history book projects through Book of My Life’s sister company Memorandum Companies Histories.

After nearly 20 years of helping people tell their stories, Alison has countless favourites. Among them are the memoir of Professor Sir George Radda, the distinguished scientist who helped develop MRI scanning, the life of Frank True, who founded the Luncheon Vouchers Company, and the biography of the woman whose life inspired the popular sitcom, The Good Life.

But some of the most moving stories come from people whose lives would never make the headlines — parents, teachers, nurses, carers and quiet adventurers — whose experiences deserve to be remembered too.

‘There is gold to be found in every life, if you know where to look’

— Alison Vina
